Repeated DUI Offender Still Free: A Concerned Citizen’s Message

Submitted by a community member

I recently came across troubling information about an individual—Francisco Fernandez, born 08/08/1977, currently residing in Utah—who appears to have a long history of DUI convictions spanning several states, including New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Utah. According to publicly available records, he has been convicted 7 to 8 times for driving under the influence, in addition to violating felony probation. One of these incidents reportedly endangered his own child.

Despite multiple convictions and recommendations for prison time, this individual remains free. Many in the community are left asking: how can someone with such a history of endangering public safety still be allowed back on the streets?

The cost of repeated prosecution—borne by victims, taxpayers, and overwhelmed court systems—raises further concern. The comment also mentions alleged sex offenses, further intensifying the gravity of the situation.
