  2. I read through these comments the other night and thought long and hard about saying something or just keeping my mouth shut. Let me set this straight. If you have driven drunk and got away with it, congrats. If you have never lost your very best friend and then made a bad decision while you were grieving and processing that unbelievable loss, congrats to you. If you have never gone through the hardest thing in your life (yet), I wish you the very best when you do. This incident 5 years ago is something he wishes he could take back every single day but he cannot. What’s done is done and we can only be grown from our mistakes. I challenge you to not judge him or anyone else before knowing the entire story. To his students, this is an amazing man who will do anything for anyone. He is the person who lifts people up when they are struggling…even if he is going through his own struggles. He is who you want in your corner when times get tough. Never judge anyone or partake in weak bashing of someone without knowing what you are commenting on and who you are taking a cheap shot at. He is my ex-boyfriend and will ALWAYS be a great friend in my book.

    • To SSS,
THANK YOU for being who you are. I don’t know you, but your comment tells me you are a wonderful, up lifting person. You see reality clearly, but choose to focus on the good.
You are a blessing. Thank you again, Kathy

    • When you cripple and almost kill someone from driving drunk, you’re a POS. He’s a POS. He maimed a husband and father driving drunk and still continued to collect DUIs, so it’s difficult to appreciate his so-called regret. I perceive him as a master manipulator who becomes religious when he benefits from it and relies on the success of others to sustain a home and food on the table.
His disregard to the safety and well being of others cancels out all your “atta boys” for this POS of a human being.

      • He probably became religious and voted for Trump, that’s what all the criminals and lowlifes in society tend to do, they join the club of rejects and gain a false sense of entitlement.

    • I have been convicted of three DUI’s and I shamefully regret them. I got addicted to Xanax and mixed with alcohol. My actions were selfish, and I could have hurt someone though I was only driving 20 miles an hour each time but still, it was dangerous to others. I have changed and turned my life around. I am an honors student at USF and I am in recovery. I have never driven drunk or under the influence since. People can change, and I always am trying to help prevent others from drinking and driving, if I see someone drinking. I offer them rides or ask them to have a designated driver. I’m just so glad I never hurt or killed someone, die my selfish actions. I feel terrible and I only hope you guys can forgive me.

  5. This loser, Charlene Berry (Brusca), has at least three DUIs. Putting others at tremendous risk. What a horrible person. Please folks, don’t put others at risk by making a poor choice and driving under the influence. Remember, what if it were *your* child who is hit by a drunk driver?

  10. L.A.M’s DUI wasn’t for alcohol… it was prescription medication he was supposed to be on for breakthrough pain management due to recovery from a severe spinal injury. The officer recognized him during a traffic stop and took advantage of the situation because he was L.A.M’s spouse’s ex and wanted to mess with him because of it. He had his prescriptions in the vehicle because he had just picked them up. And he couldn’t pass the line test because he had a custom back brace on which he couldn’t take off; he was still healing. Sometimes these things aren’t what people think they are on paper. Sometimes you have to be there to know.
